What an IV drip involves

Hydration support
Fluid is part of every drip. It is not a replacement for everyday drinking or for medical treatment of dehydration.

What you may notice
Some people feel no immediate change. Others notice they feel more comfortable after resting with fluids. A cool sensation in the arm, a metallic taste, or light-headedness can occur. None of these is promised, and none is a measure of success.
Safety
IV treatment carries risks including bruising, vein irritation, infection and, rarely, a more serious reaction. You should not attend if you feel unwell. Tell the clinician about heart, kidney or liver conditions. This service does not replace your GP or emergency care.
